"I've used this on a pair of fabric/gore boots I own and I'm in two minds about it. On the first application I got only a very partial proofing. So I proffed again the following week, with a much, much heavier dose, and got rather good proofing (nice water beading etc). Trouble is that since then no re-proof has come anywhere close, even after using the Nikwax cleaning gel to get a nice base before application.

One boot company person I spoke with said that he gave up and started using plain old dubbin on his fabric boots instead. I've not gone this route because I've read advice suggesting that this will impair the gore function.

Anyway, could be worth a go on new boots, but be prepared for notabley declining performance over time."
